Our Registered Call signs

Current call signs in use:

​Rescue helicopters and fixed wing aircraft conducting search and/or rescue missions
Call sign prefix Rescue followed by three numbers eg. Rescue 936.

Firebombing missions
Aircraft will assume the call call sign Firefly followed by two digits and the letter A (Alpha) if responding to the mission or E (Echo) if returning from the mission or on a positioning flight. Eg. Firefly 22A "firefly 2-2 alpha" for a responding mission and Firefly 22E "Firefly 2-2 echo" for a positioning flight or return leg. 

Aid/Transport Missions
Our lager aid aircraft, the Tristar, the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 747 Freighter will assume the call sign "Aeromedica" followed by two digits and the letter A if responding to a mission (as above) and E if returning from a mission or positioning.

Training Flights
All aircraft operating under the HM Coastguard livery (Augusta Westland AW139 & Sikorsky S-29A) shall assume the call sign Coastguard followed by three digits for the purposes of training.
Any other aircraft operating under VSAR will assume the call sign "Anglesey" followed by three digits.
